Position Description
Senior Software Development Engineer
Description
As a member of the software engineering team of the Geneva office, you will be
working on the core tools for business intelligence, revenue optimization,
competitive intelligence and decision support in a big data environment. Your role
will be to work closely with the business to build advanced dashboard solution with
a high visibility at Expedia. You will interact with our international teams in an
English speaking environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the business to understand their needs and come back with
appropriate solutions
- Provide optimized web page based on server and client side technologies
- Take an important part of the architecture discussion
- Take ownership of your work
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in UI web technologies : HTML, CSS, Javascript (Including
frameworks such as Jquery, JqueryUI, KnockoutJS) and their patterns
- .NET framework, C#, ASP.NET, Web Services (WCF), MVC patterns and Web
API
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Design Development
- SQL Knowledge (writing optimized SQL code; Use of Framework like Entity
Framework)
- Data Modeling - logical and physical design in a both OLTP and OLAP
environment
- Design, implement and manage large-scale, high-volume relational database
systems
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Capability to learn new technologies and deliver iterative results quicklyDesired Skills
- Experiences in SharePoint development
- Experience in working with large scaled applications
- Experience in HTML5 / CSS3
- Hadoop/HBase experience
- DB2 experience
